Join WildCraft Studio and Topaz Farm for a workshop focused on Indigo!
Join us for an exclusive, after-hours event on the farm starting with a complimentary drink and snacks.
Participants will dip cotton fabrics into two variations of indigo vats to create beautiful custom patterns on cotton and silk textiles. Focusing on Arashi and Kumo (wrapping and binding) and Itajime (clamping and shaped resist), this two-hour workshop introduces students to textile patterning with traditional Japanese techniques and resist methods. Learn folding, tying and binding techniques influenced by traditional and non-traditional practices. Students will leave with a handful of samples and a patterned bandana.
This class will be taught by WildCraft Studio Teacher, Hannah Watson. Originally from South Carolina, Hannah grew up spending weekends in the woods of the upstate where her grandparents lived on a farm, her grandmother ran a sewing and quilting business, and her ancestors tended to sheep and processed wool. She has extensive training and experience with indigo and weaving and teaches classes on natural dyes, weaving and botanical printing classes at WildCraft Studios.

Summer 2025 “Sip &” Series
This event is part of our new Summer 2025 “Sip &” Series — Wednesday evenings on the farm, after hours.
It’s all about slowing down midweek and spending time doing something with your hands, your heart, and maybe a frosé in the mix. Whether you're dyeing, fermenting, pickling, printing, or just reading quietly under our 500-year-old oak… these nights are about gathering in a relaxed, creative space and letting the farm do what it does best — inspire.
