Join WildCraft Studio and Topaz Farm for a workshop focused on Botanical Prints!
Join us for an exclusive after-hours event on the farm starting with a complimentary drink and snacks.
Join us for a workshop focused on botanical printing for fabric! In this two-hour class students will be guided by textile artist and educator, Hannah Watson through the process of plant hammer printing – a technique known in Japan as Hapa Zome, meaning “leaf dye.”
Students will explore color with fresh seasonal plants and flowers grown on the farm such as coreopsis, marigold, scabiosa, and cosmos. Hannah will discuss how to mordant fabrics so that botanical prints retain their detail and color. Students will arrange, hammer, and experiment with this playful technique to create two unique tea towels, preserving the ephemeral beauty of summer!
This class will be taught by WildCraft Studio Teacher, Hannah Watson. Originally from South Carolina, Hannah grew up spending weekends in the woods of the upstate where her grandparents lived on a farm, her grandmother ran a sewing and quilting business, and her ancestors tended to sheep and processed wool. She has extensive training and experience with indigo and weaving and teaches classes on natural dyes, weaving and botanical printing classes at WildCraft Studios.

Summer 2025 “Sip &” Series
This event is part of our new Summer 2025 “Sip &” Series — Wednesday evenings on the farm, after hours.
It’s all about slowing down midweek and spending time doing something with your hands, your heart, and maybe a frosé in the mix. Whether you're dyeing, fermenting, pickling, printing, or just reading quietly under our 500-year-old oak… these nights are about gathering in a relaxed, creative space and letting the farm do what it does best — inspire.
